About Morgan County

Morgan County is located in West Virginia’s Eastern Panhandle, less than 100 miles northwest of Baltimore-Washington metropolitan area and 150 miles southeast of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It is the westernmost of the three counties in the Panhandle, which includes Berkeley and Jefferson counties and which forms a wedge between Maryland to the north and Virginia to the south.

The county has an area of 230 square miles consisting of 148,000 acres, with a population of roughly 15,000 people. There are two incorporated municipalities, the Town of Bath, which is included in the larger area of Berkeley Springs, and the Town of Paw Paw.
